So everybody who uses the LR should notice that sometimes you hit somebody and it doesn't cause any damage. I heard it is called the "NR". (forgot what the full name is)
And I had enough of it, sometimes 2 consecutive shots were missed caused by NR. You KNOW how important a shot can be.
-stopping the capper from capping or sometimes even prevent enemy team from winning the game.
-cause damage on the incoming capper to not let them continue to cap
etc.

This NR thing often happens to me, also to many other players.
Please fix it!

NR = non registered shot. Yes it sucks and I don't know if it's possible to fix. I guess it is.

Yeah, the NR bug is pretty big, it could either be related to the mathematics in calculating the shot, or the ping/lag issues. I am hoping it will be fixed in the next update.

Yeah me too. I don't think it's the ping/lag issue. I usually play in low ping (100-), and the NR still occurs.

Yup, happens.
I tried sniping at 300 (LOL) and, yeah, I couldn't seem to fire 2 consecutive shots. 'Thought it was because of my ping.
Then seeing a few other threads in the forum about this, came to know it wasn't.
Hope the NR will be fixed soon, in the coming update.

edit: ...so that i can try sniping again at 300 ping...

Oh my god, non-regs in a multiplayer game? Welcome to the internet! Wink

In all seriousness, go play one of all the other games out there (let's say, a round of InstaGib on QL; or jump into a T1 duel-server), and you'll be able to see exactly the same. It's not a bug, it's something that's caused simply by how multiplayer games work. It might look like your shot hits something on your screen, but it actually doesn't. It's a bit more obvious to some in FE:L, as the LR/LRII spawns a beam, not a projectile like the other weapons. If this beam hits, you'll see the typical explosion. This explosion is handled client-side though, and will appear even if you haven't actually hit something (it's enough that your system thinks that you've hit, so to speak). But, naturally, you won't ever see this kind of behaviour if you're hosting. Just try it. Also, this problem will get more and more apparent at higher latencies.

Bottom line: If you see a NR, you have not hit anyways. So it's not that you did miss because of the NR. That's an important point.

Edit: By the way, the name of this phenomenon is somewhat misleading, as it actually does not describe a hit which did not register, but a miss which looks like a hit on your side. Wink

To sum up Gheist's post, the laser beam that you see may NOT point to the place that you actually hit, depending on your ping.

... I think... I dunno, I didn't read the whole post.  Wink

And oh yeah, the NR occurs when you try to keep firing the LR by holding down the fire button. I was killing an osniper with LR and we both didn't move. I held down the fire button and the first shot registered, but the second one didn't.
