New Lore Build v. 2038

A new lore build as been posted to the site as of yesterday. 

The changes include:
- Increased mission boundary bounce
- Grenades now behave like grenades instead of rockets plus their damage radius and radius damage was increased ( This includes delayed explosion and greater arc when fired)
- Rockets don't fall below crosshair as much anymore (gravity pull on them was decreased)
- LARB damage radius increased plus other tweaks (delayed arming)
- Mission Area now only renders when your near it.
- Fixed Zoom shader
- Suiciding takes 10 seconds now and regular respawning is still at 5 seconds
- Removed repair bays from Arena
- Increased speed of mavs although numbers remain same
- Decreased damage on ACs
- fixed bug where two people in lava would cause one to not get hurt.
- Fixed bug where dying during overload would cause your left mouse button to not respawn you
- Fixed jumpjet so it now renders correctly in mavlab and escape screen
- Fixed bug with suicide killing causing game to end too early and have wrong scores.
- Implemented a max wait time of 20 seconds at start of match so you cant get stuck in infinite loading
- Fixed scoring bug with your own teams turret killing you
- Fixed bug that when you switch away from lore and back during repair it will no longer give you controls back at wrong time
- Fixed bug where if you jetpack into a repair trigger and land outside of it during repair, you no longer screw up that repair bay

Has anybody mentioned that the new engine output changes are completely ridiculous?

Also fyi, the pre-game lobby screen displays the real speed of MAVs, even if the MAVlab and in-game speed gauge use the old numbers.  The top speed of a stripped viper is 225kph.  At this speed the animations start to look oddly out of place with the speed.  Even throwing a yellowjacket on only reduces speed to somewhere in the 190ish range if I recall correctly.

Not only is the new speed over-the-top, but the increase in engine power has led to an absurd increase in jumpjet thrust.  I can consistently jet across the entire arena map from on top of one wall to the one opposite with both PP3 and PP1 on a viper, and it looks like with proper fluttering I might be able to manage it with PP2.

IMHO the powerplant changes need a re-think.

there should be a chassis speed cap to follow. Some how in the test scenario, no one caught this side affect of increasing speed.

To be perfectly honest I wasn't really paying attention to those changes, I had concerned myself primarily with the new grenadiers.  I'll try to be more thorough.  Tongue

i've been having issues with the grenades and the larb fizzling out a lot.  prior to the update the larb would occasionally be a dud, but it's happening a lot more now.  and i'm not talking about it bouncing off of the ground or a mav, i mean that they're not always exploding on impact with the ground.  it's like they slide right through the terrain model and disappear

I love the pp changes flying is a good stratedy if they are not expereinced players.plus its fun. Cheesy

That is actually what happens. :'(But hopefully it'll be taken care of in an update soon.

The update is what you are currently playing.  The previous version no longer exists; this new version has replaced it.  Odds are if you haven't played before the date of Tim's post (07.29.09) then you haven't played the previous version, so don't worry about it.

Keep in mind that updates to IA's games go into effect immediately for all players.
