Hi I know you guys are busy and I thank you so much for taking an interest in rebuilding tribes . I'm not demanding anything But It would be nice to have the vehicles to be more like tribes 2 or make the game open for modding so we could take stuff from tribes 2 and update it and add it to a mod . A lot of us love to map . In tribes2 we had a lot of problems with server side and client side I hope in this tribes we can use a redirect for custom objects, terrains and textures or even mods . No one likes to go look and download things . I'm not asking for you guys to supply the redirect space just something we can enter a link to or auto setup to pull files from our own space  so we don't have people lagging the game . These or just some things I would like to see and I thank you guys again . You guys are so cool for working on this .

The game isn't changing. This isn't a balance patch, or likewise. It's Tribes, from 1998. Vehicle modifications are out of the question.

I'm glad to see a return of possibly my favorite game. I played Tribes 1 constantly when I was younger, possibly 10. I modded the hell out of it, played hundreds of different maps and customized everything until the famous Deadly Family servers went down, then the community seemed to disappear and I stopped playing.

While I would be far more excited for a NEW Tribes 1, like a remake or Fallen Empire conversion into Tribes (let's be honest, that game looks very nice and would work) since the models and textures are incredibly old, I am willing to wait a couple more months since I wasn't even aware I was waiting 7 or something years.

If you don't feel like waiting you can still get some Tribes goodness.  While it may be small, there's still a community of players whom I see on a daily basis.

However, after seeing your recent post on how to take a screenshot on a Mac, I must inform you that PlayTribes won't work with Macs.  Sorry.

You don't really run it through bootcamp per se. Bootcamp repartitions in the hard drive (and some other stuff) so you have space to install Windows. Basically it's just dual booting so you can run Windows and OSX natively as opposed to through a VM such as Parallels.

So yes, it would detect the OS as Windows since you are physically running Windows and not OSX. It'd also detect Windows if you did it through a VM, but the performance hit would be enormous.

No, it doesn't.
That's because www.PlayTribes.com isn't launched yet. The link (pax.playtribes.com) was only valid for users at PAX 09. For further information on the launch of PT, look here.

It's been over 3 weeks since that post(oh how time flies).  Think we'll get any 'concrete details' soon?

(That's a rhetorical question, by the way...)

I think hearing an actual answer would be kind of depressing

Any date specified for the release of PlayTribes? I am a USBase player. But, the commune has only gotten smaller. I wanna try this out and see if more players will join. To be honest, this could be an internet revolution for browser based gaming. Is there beta testing out?

There's neither an official release date, nor a date for the launch of the public beta yet.
