ShadowDemon9 has infi-OD on his server. It's fun but it's really just a novelty, and takes away more from gameplay then it adds.

Whenever the game *dancing* loads for me again, then I'll try this *chocolate cookie* and comment.

It's not really something to replace the current gameplay, but an added option. Honestly now, no matter how small it may seem now I would take any addition to the gameplay. I really don't care if they add options that dumb it down a bit, Legions needs something to spice things up every now and again.

Also as far as it taking away more than it adds, that's only a matter of opinion. None of us have seen what the finished product would actually look like so we can only really speculate based off what we have seen.

It's nice to play a Inf OD game but at the same time it just ruins the point of a CTF game.

Don't think such thing will ever happen

It is a finished product in terms of what this thread is about, infi-OD. On Shadow's server thats what we have, and it's fun to zoom around forever but it makes CTF pointless and unplayable. You think regular rabbits are bad, try catching an OD-Rabbit.

Assuming that this idea isn't insane to begin with (that's another debate), OD rabbiting could be stopped by only being able to OD for n seconds (say, 10) before the flag is dropped.

I've both run and joined a few servers with the invulnerability glitch and infinite OD is fun. How useful that is on a CTF server I don't know, but I think it's worth fiddling with a couple variables to find a good mix. You know, stuff like adjusting how much health it eats, the force it provides, minimum speed required to continue to OD.

If OD allows you to shoot straight up for 30 seconds, that's probably going to unbalance things.

If OD is overall weaker but allows for fancier maneuvers to throw off chasers, that might be fun to play with. Then it won't allow for someone to change direction AND zip off into the distance as easily.

I wouldn't go as far as unlimited OD, because at that rate everyone will just be cruising like an airliner. I'm guessing the snipers would get a kick out of that, though.

I don't know, I just want a content update. I'll even take bug fixes only (ally1, cough).

Likely because their health would drain as they did their 'OD rabbitting', but if they did not lose that health and could continue OD rabbitting indefinitely, well, that might be problematic.
Actually, what about the idea that using a certain 'armour/slot configuration', would allow you to overdrive without losing health, but placing a time limit on how long you can OD (think 3-4 seconds).  This would allow cappers (and chasers) a little extra maneuvaribility when performing their task.

Anything that further unbalances the game towards offense further damages the game. Case and point.

Except for the fact that it doesn't unbalance the game hank.
You'd see that OD chasing and chaining them down if they try to use the OD to do a base to base cap is easily killed. It just adds a bit more to the game.

What if the person with the flag would get damaged by OD, but at a slower rate than what we currently have?
Measuring the distance between a base on Nivosus to one of the towers would be a good distance (Can our OD even reach that far? I haven't tested this a lot.)

As it is now, a perfectly done OD with a very high speed can allow for OD travel and flag throw from one base to another. But it has to be done perfectly, rendering it useless for practical purposes. Any decreases in health damage over time in OD will allow for base-to-base flag passes (or even caps) once again.

I dunno, I'm still not sold on this infinite OD idea, I'm envisioning OD cappers flying in from multiple directions, pushing the defense out of the way, swooping in and grabbing the flag, then flying back to their base to cap.
I like OD being used to change directions quickly, not being able to fly for an unlimited amount of time around the map like Peter Pan.
Here's what I suggest for changing OD, place a 3-5 second cap on Overdrive duration, and allow Outriders to OD without health loss.
