New Section
« on: 10.13.09 | 04:08 PM »
So at the request of LilDragon we've made a new section with the purpose of sharing tactics and stratigies, and helping newer players get better. For the most part this is all up to you guys, since none of the mods or admins currently play AoA the eventual success or failure of this section is in your hands.

What I would like to try and help you do in getting started is set up a group of people willing to train newer players. LilDragon was the first to step up and do something to make a difference for everyone and now I hope more people will. Essentially this group will be people who have moderate to advanced experience in AoA or flight sims in general. The point of the group is to be there to help and train any and all newer/weaker pilots who seek their aid.

So that's one thing I hope we can get done here to help, but like I said this is up to you guys in the end. I can't do this myself I can only help out by giving ideas and aiming people in the right direction.

Yar, I think it's a good step in building this community and making the game a little less daunting for new players.

I've offered to help train some new pilots but they were soon lost, and since i am apparently being trained by Rawlings, which i was not aware of.

       Risen;
     You have taken the first step in helping to keep new players here on AoA.   We won't be able to keep everyone, but we can show that we are a player friendly site in learning the game of "Ace of Aces"    This will go a long way in player appreciation for the game, but it will take time.  It is time that the Community shows, that we are able and willing to work as a Community.
     I believe this will help with some of the negativity about the updates that we all would like to see happen in the near Future. .. {more sooner than Later} ..   This is why I went to Chi-Ro with the Idea of this new site on the Forums.   Furthermore, I asked that he run the Idea past Dr. Wiley and asked for support from the powers at hand.   IMO, it's like going back to the basic's when "Ace of Aces" first went on line.   Everybody helped, everybody.    And squads were formed and this is where we are at now, in the Evolution of the Game.

                      Lil Dragon
                           Wink

Dr.Wiley loves the idea, I forgot you had asked me about him. I'm not sure if there is anything the admins could do to help you here but if you think of something I'll be sure to run it by him.

As far as your point about when AoA first came out and everyone helped everyone. I don't think some of the newer players even know what it was like back then. What you said is exactly true. When AoA launched there was no fighting, just about everyone got along, and everyone really really enjoyed the game. Even a bad or not updated game can be thoroughly enjoyed while playing with friends. When the squadrons came along they were just another way to play with friends, and stayed that way for awhile. But now unfortunately that has changed.

Anyway, LD has taken the first step to fixing that and thankfully people are following his lead.

I would like to see more pilots in here posting,
than looking. Get real with it. I just hope this isn't another great
idea going down the toilet.

I f I knew tactics, or typing, I'd make an entry.
I got your back LD. this is a good thing for AoA.
