Well that's what i did after the sniper rifle was revamped,  and i turned out ok.

Trust me folks, go with gunner, if you take a preferance to any of the weapons go for a spec.

I'm with fireblasto here. Learn Gunner and all the main weapons in this game. I wouldn't use any LR class before I would be able to ski well.

-standart weapon should be the rocketlauncher to react fast (mid air suddenly appearing enemies in short range,shot flag away from ur enemies ,....)
-switch to cg if u know that the enemy will be longer in the air
-use nades if the enemy is at the ground except when he's too near
... of course some player never try to midair/chain ppl. find out what u like more
personally i try to keep a good mixture between midairs and cg
so dont be too lazy to switch weapons (most good players prefer 1,2,3)

As said Rocket launcher and dont try to shoot enemies in midair when ur a noob because you will HATE legions just do a rabbit fight ( A.k.a shoot when they fall on ground.)

Wtf :| How are they going to learn? Practice, Practice, Practice

Don't tell people to not try MA shots, its a fail, Don't tell people to do stuff that will also get them killed; while they're waiting for the enemy to land they'll get killed, try MA's practice makes perfect
Also i have no complaints about trying LR first, just i don't highly suggest it, it will make if harder for u to learn how to ski, and u may just die more; It may help your aim tho, if you master it
Rl first i highly suggest, it'll well balanced weapon, so give it a go, with it you will practice aiming, dodging, and the fundamentals of legions, learning the advanced you can do whenever, I consider ma's/Dodging well sort of advanced since new players may not do them well.
Also Gl launcer is decent but not the best to start with, but its all up to you, We're all just tossing ideas here, so no wrong answers, Unless its just stupid and makes absolutely no sense at all (Like not practice ma's, no practice = no skill)

Hey i said just when you're begining because it's very hard for begginers (look back when you where a noob. Wasn't it hard to shoot people when you had no practice and was basically just hanging on the FPS games that you already played where you run hide and shoot?) Also once you get used to the delayed fire and the jumping THEN you start trying to shoot MA's and with practice you can then do it perfectly.

Ma's ARE better to do with Chains actually so ill change it practice Ma's with a Chian but dont depend on it.

For me, it was love at first sight with the sniper rifle... For a noob tho, i would have to say the RL. it's a straight, fast shot, and nades may be confusing to use as a beginner, because they are bouncy (BOUNCY NADES ROK YO SOX! XD). The CG is still a faster shot, and there is always overheat. It's a great weapon, but it's NOT the weapon for a noob! XD The sniper rifle is an instant shot, making ti so that you must have good aim to begin with (I sucked at sniping when I started playing!) So, yeah, I recommend the rocket launcher. Also, learn to make enemies go BOOM in mid-air too, not just on the ground. MAing ( as this is what making enemies go BOOM in mid-air is called) causes you to get a head start in the fight that you are engaged in. It also pushes your enemy away, giving you time to heal if you are the outrider, cause it heals very quickly), and MAing an enemy outrider who you know is better than you will put them in critical, amking them easy prey. Since now there is fall damage, and you MA an enemy outrider, putting them in critical and pushing them down, it will kill them due to fall damage.

Although if you can't aim properly,you can die easily. But the best one for a newbie is probably rocket launcher or grenade launcher.
