If you really want to be specific, use International Standard Time OR just use UNIX time.  FE:L, releasing at 1204984800!!!

The problem with "tribes vets" or anyone who loves tribes is they need to not play Legions to compare it to Tribes. "Well in Tribes you can do THIS. Why can't I do it in Legions? Legions sucks!"

The tribes players playing Legions need to be aware enough to say "Okay, this is NOT Tribes. The developers have said so. I should not even compare it to Tribes. I need to figure out if the game mechanics in THIS game are fun and work well."

All too often I'm seeing people say "...like in Tribes..." or variations. I understand that it is just to give a reference point and that's fine, but I just want to caution everyone to give Legions a chance to leave it's OWN impression on you. This isn't Tribes, it's a completely new game although it has aspects of Tribes in it.

Anyways, play on.

But its hard to not compare to Tribes or giving weapon/mods/maps reference from, cause legions looks like a sequel or prequel of Tribes. Some devs seems to come from the old tribes devs team (not saying old as mummy héhé).

Lots of FPS that have been done lack of something, i played a lot quake, unreal bf etc, these game rocked a lot, but there is always something that lack off : Giant maps, starbase floating at high altitude and the crazy jetpack. Legions reminds us that Tribes bring something solid in video games, so that's why all (i think) Tribes vets are always comparing legions to some Tribes 4..

FE:Legions will be it's own game, inspiring by the best made, and surely inspiring by Tribes. Look at the other fps genre, for a long time we say hey its an Doom-like/Quake-like.. Legions will be quoted under Tribes-like and its not a bad word.

Waiting for the beta too ;c)

Aslong as this game is in developement, this game will be seen as "the new tribes" for all the old players. I guess the feeling will go away over the long run. Wink I myself have been quite dissapointed with all the FPS games (multiplayer) that came out over the past few years. TF2 sure was enjoyable but for competitive play its nowhere near to Tribes.

I live and work in Eugene, Oregon. I'm all for being sensitive to other people's situations, but I think it's a bit excessive to request that I be more globally concious when making vague statements about possible release dates. Should we not post dates and times on posts? Those depend on location too. Tongue

its not excessive, all you had to say was "sometime between march and may", which is autumn in australia

"sucked" about T2?  Yeah, there were a few changes, okay.  And the sick routes were a little slower.  And the jetting system was too lenient about energy management.  And it had rock-paper-scissors balancing for the Missiles.  And the vehicles were occasionally an incredible pain in the butt.  And it had insta-gib cloakers with shocklances.  And...

*dance* it.  Yeah, I think I'm more of a T1 guy too  Embarrassed  I still thought T2 was pretty fun though...

I played every single one of them and i ended up liking T:V the most just cuz of the movement. All I needed was a spinfuser and my MAs to keep me happy.

I think each of the Tribes games were good. I have fun in all of them.

Second, please don't mistake my intention. While suggesting ideas to implement into Legions that may have derived from Tribes is totally fine, it's completely different to hate Legions because it's not what you were expecting: Tribes 4 (Tribes 3, technically since T:V was a prequel).

This is so true. But I must say, T2 turned into an excellent game.  One that could offer the same thrill of Tribes man on man play and even more indepth tactical style of play. It just failed because of foolish mistakes to nerf the core physics on release and the fact that it was a tad too ahead of its time in terms of the hardware required on its release. These two things just led to a tumultuous landslide and split. Then all the crazy patches afterward.  Sad really it was brilliant in design and a real enhancement on the original.

I cannot say the same for TV.

wtf..failed??? this game did no fail by anymeens..no one cared about any physics,yeah the hardware was a pain at first but hey look at the games now..they need alot more to run games now than t2 does anyday.Landslide and split..of what the developers?Hell the patches were a good thing that proved the developers cared to patch the game for errors.T2 is slow now but is still around after like 7 or 8 years..the people made this game..the competition leagues made this game..the developers just gave birth to it.
