er cud u include options in d game  to make it less cpu intensive?res of about 800*600 atleast and plz dont make t like lore..coz im havin only 512 mb ram and 1.6 ghz processor..legions settings wid res 80*600 worked fine for me

I think you don't have to worry there. Starsiege: Tribes is a game from 1998, it should run fine for you. Though of course, I can't say that with 100% certainty. Wink

Tribes 1 ran reasonably well on my 266Mhz with a 8 meg video card.  I think you'll be fine.

It will use the IA technology, but will get its own site, just like www.PlayLegions.com (www.PlayTribes.com most probably).

If you're talking about Tribes, it's not launched yet. The site will most probably be www.PlayTribes.com.

Will the new Tribes game have:

1) Vote Kicking?
2) Individual player muting?
3) Player Banning?
4) Defensive objects (like were possible in Renegades Mod for Starsiege Tribes)
5) Goal based scoring where points are awarded for things like killing enemy flag carrier = 5 points, killing any other player 1 point, returning flag = 5 points, capturing flag = 50 points, etc?
6) World wide ranking system?

As far as we know, there is no new Tribes game planned.

Tribes 1, which is coming to the instantaction platform on www.playtribes.com is planned to have zadmin (I believe), which should cover 1, 2 and 3.

4 I believe is covered under normal Tribes 1 anyway.

5 I'm not sure about.

6 may be planned for the future but isn't confirmed.

Like I said four posts above, the site's not officially launched yet. And to answer the question "When will it be accessible?", I'll try to use the words of Justin "justind" DuJardin: "I don't know yet. Hopefully soon. Don't ask."

1, 2, and 3 were covered in base Tribes already, no?

why tribes and not tribes 2 or tribes: vegeance???
T:V is, eh, 4GB? 5GB? No fun to download that, and fewer people would play it I think. T2 probably couldn't be chopped down to a whole lot less than 500MB, which isn't obscene these days but would still bring up the previously suggested question of "Why not Tribes 1?". Tribes 1 is notably smaller, and requires less powerful hardware (Although the exclusion of software (and glide?) rendering is a minor disappointment, as some folks who don't have access to newer, OpenGL compatible video cards won't be able to play it with the OpenGL-only thing going on)

One of the things I'd like to see in Tribes is more expandability.  Basically where it can take use of newer hardware but still use the old at the same time.  (i.e., please allow us to have more objects....  The RPG line of Tribes servers could really use being able to add over 10,000 objects to the game.)

Fixing all the known security issues would be nice, and as I noticed it was mentioned in the original post that they would be fixed.  I hope so cause its a pain in the *bumm* to try and have a master server cover for you on game servers that want to exploit the client.
